Taylor Quintero
Dancer/ Instructor/ Choreographer

I believe in revealing and fostering the artist inside every student. It is important to me that young dancers gain an informed understanding of their abilities and strengths. Understanding one's faculties, paired with basic technical concepts, gives the student the invaluable skill to self correct. This self reliance breeds confidence and problem solving.
I highly encourage discovery through obstacles and disappointing circumstances dancers can often experience. We find ourselves faced with these in many different forms: auditions, an off class, a job or role lost, or even injury. I like to reassess their perceived setbacks and help students always find the opportunity.
Most of all I encourage an environment for independent thinking. I don't believe in self imposing my ideas about art or movement. I welcome discussion about technique, style, and choices; challenging my students to discover their own supported opinions about what art is to them. My hope as a teacher is not only to instruct dance, but to create unique and self aware artists.
